About Us... The Jewish Endowment Foundation

Each of us is an author, writing with deeds, in the great Book of Life...

And we each have the power to write lines that will never be lost.

The Jewish Endowment Foundation (JEF) is the planned giving and endowment department of the Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts. While the Federation allocates all the money it raises in its annual campaign, the JEF invests principal, and spends its income, to build financial strength and security for future generations. As a fiduciary, the JEF solicits, accepts, invests, and administers endowment funds and planned charitable gifts. With those funds we make grants and give scholarships on behalf of the local Jewish and secular communities. We assist our agencies, religious schools, and synagogues with their endowments and planned giving needs. The JEF invests its assets in diversified, professionally-managed portfolios.

There are many ways to contribute to your local Jewish community. The JEF accepts cash, appreciated stock, shares in a mutual fund, insurance policies, and real estate--including a current residence or vacation property. Financial gifts to the JEF meet a variety of community needs while also meeting the special circumstances and goals of donors--who are increasingly from all walks of the community.

Our donors share a vision of preserving the Jewish community by ensuring that social, spiritual, and educational organizations are funded in perpetuity--and thus leave a legacy for future generations. Endowment giving enables us to improve our community during our lifetime and to shape the future of our community for generations to come.
